Listing Hints / Photo Guide
High-quality images are essential for your listing's success.
Create a Free ListingBefore submitting your listings
Begin by providing several professional-grade photographs along with precise listing details. This greatly enhances the likelihood of attracting offers and being showcased in our social media and email promotions. Consider what you'd expect to see when evaluating a premium artwork for purchase.
Our submission form reflects over two decades of online art marketplace expertise. Carefully review and adhere to every instruction provided. Pay attention to the guidance tooltips displayed at each stage. Supply comprehensive and precise details wherever possible!
Please note that we function as brokers, not appraisers. Conduct thorough research and consult local galleries or specialists when needed. Final transaction amounts remain confidential and are not disclosed upon request. PandoraArtBox maintains full discretion to decline submissions as deemed appropriate.
After submitting your listings
Monitor your listing's performance by accessing your dashboard where view counts are displayed beside each item. When listings attract substantial views without corresponding offers, consider revising your pricing strategy or enhancing your photograph quality.
Optimal outcomes occur when you list exclusively through PandoraArtBox until completion of sale. This approach minimizes buyer confusion and ensures our inventory remains current and accurate.
Maintain current contact details and offer various communication methods for seamless transactions. Consider including alternative email addresses and phone numbers when available. Prompt accessibility is vital for completing successful transactions.
Quality photos are the most important part of a listing
Include a MINIMUM of 5 professional-quality images with your submission. Capture these using contemporary smartphones or cameras that produce high-resolution imagery. Natural outdoor lighting is highly recommended for optimal results.
Framed artwork
Framed pieces require complete front and reverse (verso) documentation. Position your camera to capture the full artwork while maintaining frame edge visibility. Provide detailed shots of frame corners plus any signatures or edition numbers when present.
Unframed artwork
Unframed works need comprehensive front and reverse (verso) photography, capturing the complete piece including paper margins. Detail shots of signatures, edition numbers, dates, and printer's marks are essential when these elements exist.
Sculptures
Sculptural works require outdoor photography on an elevated platform capturing at least four distinct viewpoints. Detailed images of foundry markings, stamps, and signatures are necessary when such features are present.
Things to avoid
- 1. Animals or individuals appearing in images.
- 2. Inadequate illumination, reflections, or blurred photography.
- 3. Cluttered backgrounds that detract attention from the artwork itself.
